ONT Direct RNA sequencing
ONT Direct RNA sequencing
Eukaryotic genes typically generate multiple RNA isoforms, leading to the production of functionally distinct protein variants. Traditional NGS relies on short-read RNA-seq, which often fails to capture complete transcripts or adequately reflect isoform diversity.
EPIBIOTEK® introduces its ONT Direct RNA Full-Length Sequencing Service, utilizing the Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) platform. This advanced service sequences RNA strands directly, leveraging long-read technology to improve isoform detection while simultaneously identifying nucleic acid modifications such as m6A, m5C, pseudouridine (Ψ), and inosine (I). This approach offers unique advantages for alternative splicing research. A single sequencing run fulfills multiple epigenomic and transcriptomic research requirements, significantly enhancing the depth, accuracy, and efficiency of the study—making it particularly suitable for multi-omics mechanisms and the analysis of precious clinical samples.
Applications
1. Single-Molecule Sequencing: Full-length sequencing of individual RNA molecules.
2. Isoform Discovery: Identification of long transcripts and characterization of transcript isoforms.
3. Epitranscriptomics: Mapping of RNA modifications (e.g., m6A, m5C) at single-base resolution.
4. Alternative Splicing: Comprehensive detection of alternative splicing events.
5. RNA Dynamics: Identification of nascent mRNA, analysis of mRNA half-life, and stability studies.
